Do you think there might be group of people who would be willing to put some work into editing relevant areas of a version of directGov "so that it was true"?

Crime Maps, nice idea, pity about the announcement.

The police/government/whoever have now done crime maps for the entire country.

But the instructions on them are "To see a crime map for your area, go to the website of your local force and search for 'crime map'.".

Why not, "Enter your postcode here and we'll show you the map for your area?"

Maybe because the postcode database isn't free to those users; or maybe because they didn't think about the big announcement about maps that they were going to make, and how to make it easy for all the people who see it on the news tonight to actually look at them.

At least it's a start.

PS - Anyone know of a copy of the data behind this map of councils and police authorities. would take about 10 minutes to plug that into directionlessgov.com and have it do something sensible for everyone...

Anti-abuse international style

Does anyone know of any online experiences of doing anti-service-abuse stuff on a multi-lingual website without a wide ranging team of language speakers?
